A gem of a volunteer

I benefitted from working with Betsy on committees at UCLA. She was an active participant with wisdom to impart, and used considered restraint in speaking when it was unnecessary!

I only learned today, when reading the public comments, that she grew up in the same town as I did, Evanston, Illinois. I attended Haven School, and often visited the playground of Orrington. Oh, my goodness. Our paths crossed when we were younger!

She will be greatly missed. My condolences to Bud. Susan Rice

Betsy was such a magnificent woman! She will be missed for her warmth, intelligence, insight and drive.  Her smile brightened a room. Her words made us sit and listen intently. My sincerest condolences to Bud and the entire family.  I hope the incredible memories she left will provide much comfort at this sad time.

My deepest condolences. What a remarkable woman, career, and life! Her legacy will live on brightly in our alma mater. Sincerely, Marisa Van Saanen (Wellesley '01, and Young Alum Trustee at Wellesley, 2001-2004)

Betsy was a remarkable woman and she served as a generous role model for so many of us. I first met her when I joined C-200 and we realized that were in the same 5900 Wilshire Building. She was kind and innovative. A talented woman loved by many of us who will miss her forever.
